When I was in college I took a Computer Art class as an undergraduate. Back then Graphic Design was so new, there wasn’t degree programs in it. There’s wasn’t Computer Graphic departments. There was just one class offered by the art department that taught students how to make art with a computer (pretty controlversial stuff at the time.) It was by far my favorite class. It was creative. It was technical. It was fun!
One day my professor showed us a wonderful video about creativity. From what I can remember, it was a fascinating psychology experiment that highlighted the differences between the way children and adults brainstorm. Both groups were presented with the same question and the children would fearlessly throw out their ideas one right after the other without worry of being wrong or sounding silly. The adults, on the hand, were reserved. Their answers were safe and deliberate.
I thought the experiment was riveting and it raised my own level of consciousness on brainstorming and overall creativity. I hope this video does the same for you. It’s long but very entertaining and inspirational.
