I’m heading to my second ever Wordcamp this weekend. The first one I tended was a local Baltimore event. Baltimore’s cool, but, hey, I live here. Sorry I’ve been MIA. The holidays really set me back. I appreciate all the MAC vs. PC comments. I’m sticking it out with my MAC for now and when I have more time I write a post about the problems I’ve been having.
In the meantime I thought I’d pass on a site that may be of some interest to you. I’ve been using Compete.com while researching sites at work. It allows you to research traffic statistics and compare sites with a quick graph. Here’s a little side by side of Roni’s Weigh, GreenLiteBites and SkinnyMinnyMedia. . .
Even cooler then that, Compete has a toolbar for Firefox that automatically tells you the traffic of the site you are currently on like this. . .
Very cool! At least I think so. :)
MAC vs. PC – Help me decide!

My MAC is driving me up the wall! I made the switch 2 years ago and frankly, I don’t see what all the fuss is about. Besides having the cuter character (I’m a sucker for Justin Long), what benefit is there to owning a MAC?
Seriously. I need to buy a new laptop soon and I can’t decide if I want to stick it out in the MAC world or go back to PC. I want to hear from people in both camps. What do you have? Why?
Thoughts? Insights? Opinions?

Flashy Flash – A Simple Scrollable Slide Show

It’s been FOREVER since I did some simple multimedia development. With the wide acceptance of blogging and my recent Wordpress obsession (recent as in the last 4 years) I seem to have forgotten my roots in the multimedia world.
Does anyone remember Flash? I know we still see it all over the web and there’s all these crazy Flash applications and 3D immersive environments, but sometimes I long for the old days. You know, before Flash become a programming environment and us scripters didn’t have to know object oriented-programing to make a simple interaction. Read the rest of this entry »

I had an interesting conversation this morning. I work as a web designer for Research Center at a University. They are very, VERY, talented when it comes to media, animation, editing, writing, film, etc. Blogging, on the other hand, doesn’t come as naturally. So sorry for lack of posts recently. I have so many ideas but not enough time. In a few weeks I’ll be all moved into my new house and I can focus on some of the topics I want to write about here on SkinnyMinnyMedia.
