When I was in college I took a Computer Art class as an undergraduate. Back then Graphic Design was so new, there wasn’t degree programs in it. There’s wasn’t Computer Graphic departments. There was just one class offered by the art department that taught students how to make art with a computer (pretty controlversial stuff at the time.) It was by far my favorite class. Embracing my Geek-ness

I declared myself a geek waaaaaay back in college. It all stated innocent enough. I didn’t have a computer growing up so I reluctantly took a computer class in college. We learned the basics, all Unix of course as Microsoft hadn’t taken over the world yet. We surfed the web via Lynx and Gopher. That was until Mosaic and soon Netscape took over. I remember using talk to chat with my friends and cursing vi when my professors insisted on using it even though Pico was way easier to use. Read the rest of this entry »

I used to show this video in my classes. It may be a little too geek for you that is unless you’ve seen it already. Then you are "one of us." ;~P
I do have to say I’m not particulary fond of buzzwords. Web 2.0? 3.0? who cares. I just love sitting back and watching us evolve online. It fascinated me.
